Adidas Originals Stan Smith 80s
Adidas Originals Stan Smith 80s Retro Trainers was first introduced in 1965 which named to honor world famous tennistStan Smith , but in keeping with adidas’ Decade series where they resurrect great shoes from that era, this version of the classic Stan Smith tennis shoe features a soft espresso brown leather upper with tonal Stan Smith and adidas accents to the heal and tongue, classic dimple sole, alongside a fresh white midsole.
The Stan Smith is a tried and true summer classic with its clean as a whistle colorway and low cut. Adidas follows their own lead by releasing the shoe in true retro form that to celebrate Adidas Originals 60th Anniversary. These new reissue models go back to its roots by following the shape of the French made original version released in 1965. The simple design comes in two colors, black or white uppers with clean white soles. Nubuck fabric uppers are used for the black model with matching black laces and white logos on the tongue and heel. On the other hand, the white model takes cue from the original sneaker with similar white leather upper with navy logos and heel patch.
Now it is available in Hong Kong, Stan Smith toured across parts of Asia as part of the adidas Originals 60th Anniversary festivities. Upon Stan Smith’s stop in Taiwan, the former number 1 tennis star presented 10 pairs of exclusively signed adidas Stan Smiths in his original white/green colorway. Each signed pair was priced at $12,140 TWD (approximately $352 USD) and came complete with a special display case which was part of a benefit to the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders.
